The Power-line Landowners Alliance (The PLA) is an association of citizens and nonprofits determined to prevent the construction of a 500-kV electric transmission line proposed by Dominion Resources through Fauquier, Rappahannock, Culpeper, and Prince William counties of Virginia.

We believe that the way to stop Dominion’s misadventure in land desecration is to fight them at the Virginia State Corporation Commission with a legal case that proves what a bad idea this really is. That case must demonstrate the ecological impacts to the environment, the cultural and historic impacts to citizens, and the excessive financial impacts to landowners and electricity rate payers.

Dominion has failed to demonstrate the need for this power line. The Alliance believes that the proposed route for the power line will be extraordinarily and unnecessarily burdensome to landowners along the route, unnecessarily expensive to both Dominion and electricity customers, and that the route should be denied.

Please consider a monetary gift to help support this worthy, critical cause. Your contributed dollars will be used to defeat the proposed construction of a mammoth, new, unnecessary power line in Culpeper, Fauquier, Rappahannock, and Prince William Counties. The new power line would only serve to enrich Dominion executives and shareholders at the expense of local, rural landowners. Put your dollars to work here, defending against this threat locally. Please be generous. Click here for details on how to donate.
